Excellence in teaching is also recognized by TUM Schools, which annually award their own teaching awards to lecturers who have demonstrated a special commitment to teaching.
The Student Teaching Award is presented annually by the Departmental Student Council to lecturers for exceptional commitment and outstanding teaching quality.
Professional Profile Informatics
The TeachInfAward is presented by the Departmental Student Council to professors and lecturers in the categories 'Best required course' and 'Best elective course'.
Professional Profile Mathematics
The Goldene Zirkel is awarded annually by the Departmental Student Council to mathematics lecturers in three categories: 'Best Basic Lecture', 'Best Advanced Lecture' and 'Best Tutorial'.
Professional Profile Electrical Engineering and Information Technology
The Lecturer Award is presented by the Departmental Student Council to early-career scientists and professors.
Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering
The 'Die Steinlaus' and 'Doce et Delecta' teaching prizes are awarded annually by the Departmental Student Council to early-career scientists and professors in the geology degree programmes. The prizes are awarded during the graduation ceremony.
Department of Mechanical Engineering
The teaching award 'Goldene Lehre' is presented annually by the Departmental Student Council to professors and instructors.
The Best Teaching Award is awarded to professors, teaching associates and adjunct instructors. The winners are selected on the basis of student evaluations.
Department of Health and Sport Sciences
Each year the Department awards a teaching prize for outstanding commitment in three professional profiles. In each area, the two categories 'Best Lecture' and 'Best Seminar/Exercise Modul' are honoured.
Professional Profile Human Medicine
Each year, the Departmental Committee for Student Affairs and the Student Council award teaching prizes for outstanding commitment. These awards are presented in the categories of 'Junior Scientist’s Teaching Award' and 'Lecturer of the Year'. Additionally, three student teaching awards are given to lecturer for the 'Best Lecture', the 'Best Seminar', and the 'Best Required Elective Course'.
Professional Profile Physics
The Goldene Kreide is awarded annually by the Departmental Student Council to physics lecturers in six different categories.
